From the lab bench to the trade desk to the codebase.

I came to software from chemistry, safety work and banking. Each one taught me to understand a problem before trying to fix it.

ABackground

The short version.

I studied Industrial Chemistry at Bayero University, Kano (B.Sc., 2018–2023). After that I worked in safety and then as a laboratory scientist at African Circle Pollution Management Limited.

Since September 2025 I've been an account officer at Guaranty Trust Bank, working with customers, loans and import paperwork. Alongside that, I build websites and apps.

BThe thread

Different rooms, the same habit.

Each step taught me something I still use.

  1. 01 — Lab

Measure first. A result you can't reproduce isn't a result.

  2. 02 — Safety

Systems fail at the edges. Design for the bad day.

  3. 03 — Banking

Money moves through process. Most of the value is in getting the details right.

  4. 04 — Software

Put all of that into tools people can actually use.

CAreas of interest

What I explore.

  • PEProduct engineeringTurning an idea into something people can use: interfaces, data models, payments, deployment.
  • W3Web3 & on-chainReading blockchains and prediction markets as open data, and building around how they behave.
  • AIAI & automationUsing language models where they remove real friction: listings, documents and repetitive work.
  • TSTrading systemsQuantitative experiments with explicit risk controls, run on paper before anything else.
  • RSResearchInvestigation done properly: methods, measurements, references and honest write-ups.
  • BVBusiness & venturesBusiness models, pricing and outreach, plus the operational detail a banking desk teaches.

Recurring interests

  • Financial markets and market structure
  • Crypto and prediction markets

DHow I learn & build

Learn by shipping, then write it down.

  1. 01

    Investigate

Understand the problem properly before building anything.

  2. 02

    Prototype honestly

Build a small real version first, and be clear about what is finished and what is planned.

  3. 03

    Ship and observe

Put it in front of people, see what breaks, and fix the real cause.

  4. 04

    Write it down

Keep notes on what I learn. That is what the Lab is for.
